Photoshop or Illustrator
File > Print (always flat) - Never in InDesign
File > Export * Acrobat 4, PDF 1.3 (use PDF/x-1a) - Transparency Forced Flat
File > Export * Acrobat 5+, 1.4+ Unflattened Transparency
Acrobat 7 & 8* View > Toolbars > Print Production (Transparency Flattener) In RIP
PDF/x-1a
* Acrobat 4 - PDF 1.3 (Transparency is forced Flat)
* CMYK & Spot ONLY
* Fonts Subset
* 300 PPI Color & Grayscale
* Named Output Intent (SWOP)
Never use EPS (specifically older EPS) for Adobe InDesign, only use PSD & AI.
